BIRD PHOTOGRAPHY DURING OUR TOURS ©Andrew Fortuna

How do our bird photo tours work?

Are you one of those bird photographers that obtain more pleasure from obtaining an image in a more natural way using fieldcraft.rather that paying to access a permanent hide for specific species?  These tours are designed to be able to get as close as possible to a plethora of wild birds, using a variety of techniques with a variety of equipment provided subject to availability:-

  • Car
  • Walking
  • Throw over hides  (on a first come first served basis)
  • Camo nets
  • Guilie suit
  • Revolving chairs

Equipment will be rotated to allow each participant to utilise different equipment. We will also supply knee and elbow pads for comfortable low-angle photography.

Strategy

  • Although we are not having a go at photographers who do, we derive more please from working at an image the hard way, using fieldcraft and strategic positioning using our experience and knowledge of where bids will be, and making use of the best light.

  • For that reason we prefer shooting during morning and evening hours to achieve that gold sweet-spot to our images while we use the harsh-light hours during midday and early afternoon to move between locations and have lunch

  • We are keeping the number of participating photographers to just 3, that way, not only can each photographer make use of each car window, but also minimises photographers getting into each others way on foot.

Pricing

There is a big discount saving available by coming as a pair or group (max 3) as opposed to coming as a single participant.

There is a further 10% discount available paying in full before the 31st January 2019.

Bookings
