The hides are located in private land in the Sierra Morena mountain chains which separete central Spain from Andalucia and is home to some of Iberia's most threatened wildlife. One of our most popular tours, the bird hide photography workshop will allow you to observe & photograph a plethora of Iberian wildlife at very close quarters, allowing you some amazing photography or even behavioural studies if your a biologist / zoologist, or some other field. Our guide will be at hand to supply first hand photography advice within the hides, in great comfort, fully insuted from the cold and equipt with eco-toilets. The images that can be taken in these hides are breath-taking!
Some of the wildlife you may photograph includes:-
Spanish imperial eagle,, Bonelli's eagle, Golden eagle, Goshawk, Sparrowhawk, Red kite, Black kite, Griffon vulture, Black vulture, Egyptian vulture, Booted eagle, Green woodpecker, Hoopoe, Kingfisher, Azure-winged magpie, European bee-eater, kingfisher and other non-passerines, and a huge list of small woodland birds, as well as mammals such as Iberian lynx, badger etc.
NOTE:- Hide will be accessed before first light and ONLY exited in the evening when birds have left. Smoking is strictly prohibited.

WOODLAND BIRDS HIDE
Minimum hide use requirements:-
1 person - 2 days hides & 1 night stay.
2 or more persons - 1 day hides & 1 night stay.
Many other birds of prey and smaller birds can be seen & photographed from these hides (See below). Price includes use of hide only. Accomodation on a half board basis is £50 per person per day with a single room supplement of £150 for the duration of the stay. (Not per day).

1.) Spanish imperial eagle hide. Max 4 persons.
Hide made from fallen fir wood. 3.50m length x 2.42m width y 1.80-2m height, with a panoramic one-way glass viewing / photographing window. Spanish Imperial Eagle, Griffon, Egyptian & Black Vulture, Red & Black Kite, Sparrowhawk Azure-winged Magpie, Jay, Black Redstart, Mistle Thrush and other smaller woodland birds occur in this hide.
2.) Golden Eagle hide. Max 4 persons.
Hide made from brick and clay tiles with an artificial grass floor on the interior for cold insulation. 4m length, 3m width & 2m height, and 2 panoramic one-way glass viewing / photographing window of 70 X 180cm. Golden Eagle, Griffon, Egyptian & Black Vulture, Red & Black Kite, Goshawk, Azure-winged Magpie, Jay, Woodlark, Cirl Bunting and other smaller woodland birds occur in this hide.
3.) Woodland bird hide. Max 3 persons.
This hide is made with fir wood and naturally occurring rocks, mountain & Stone Pine forests, and a drinking pool for birds to drink & bath, increasing the number of possible photographic opportunities together with various strategically palces rocks branches as natural perches. Possible species include a vast list of approx 40 different woodland species (depending on season), including Melodious Warbler, Sardinian Warbler, Bonelli's Warbler, Hawfinch, Greater Spotted Woodpecker, Wryneck, Crested Tit & many others.
